That’s right…30 hrs. That is the magic number of hrs that my family and I have spent in the car since Sunday…so, a total of 30 hrs in a car within 4 days.
WHAT THE HECK?!?
~It was getting dark and we had been looking for a place to rent in Charlotte for 2 full days now without any luck. We were beyond frustration and even to the point of tears when we turned down a side road and caught the glimpse of a “For Rent” sign in the headlights. Great, another number for me to call just to leave a voice mail message, that no one would return or to hear that the price of the place was out of our range. I made the call, left a message, and we headed to the mall at 8:15 to grab a bite to eat and let the kids stretch their legs. They had been in the car FOREVER, without a DVD player by the way. The kids were excellent. Only one break down during the whole trip. Back to the story. We let the kids play on the playground in the mall and D’Artagnon (hubby) and I were venting our frustrations to each other as the stores around us were closing. My phone rang…I rolled my eyes…yes, one of my bad habits. It was the guy from the last house we called about. I was certain that it was out of our price range…after all it was in a pretty good neighborhood…you know, the neighborhoods where every 3rd house is the same…and it was less then 1/4 of a mile from the elementary school, and had a fenced in backyard. Here it comes….I was prepared for it…what? It was in our range?!? THANK YOU JESUS!!! I shouted right there in the mall. I was super excited and stoked. We made the appointment and looked at the house earlier today…it is small, but will be perfect for the short amount of time we will be there. YES!! God came through for us…and at the last minute. Surprise there!!
~The trip was a success. We found all the ghettos in Charlotte. SERIOUSLY. We spent an extra night in the hotel just to look at the house. It took 4 days and a grand total of 30 hrs in the car, with 3 girls 5 and under. They were fantastic. I couldn’t have asked for better behavior….well, maybe…but they were great under the circumstances!! I am proud of them! So, I guess we are moving…next week. I will keep you updated!!
*Now we all need to pray that my hubby finds a job!!*

awesome!!! at least you are already packed up mostly
Congratulations! I know having just moved it can be stressful hoping the cost is in your budget. But I am happy for you and continue to pray for your family.

I think about you guys all time. I’m happy to hear this. Good luck girlie.
