It’s a name heard and respected around the world. Also known as the “Pool Shark.” The above pic was taken yesterday when he and his team won gold in a relay. I have heard people say “He’s a beast.” & ” I am not sure he is even human.” Everyone is in awe of Michael Phelps’ power, strength and agility in the water….if you aren’t amazed, then you haven’t been watching the Olympics!! Even my hubby is astounded by Phelps’ talent. He keeps trying to figure out what Michael Phelps’ secret is to being so freaking amazing in the water. I don’t think there is one. Just like Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and any other sport phenomenon…they were lucky enough to find the thing that they were good at. This goes across the board with entrepreneurs, actors, or anyone that is GREAT at what they do. How many of us go to college and have ideas of what we want to do and then when we get there, we HATE it?!? We don’t excell at anything and just can’t seem to figure out what the heck we are supposed to be doing. Well, Michael Phelps and the others found it. To be honest, I am a little bit jealous. Very few of us actually tap into our true potential and live the life we were created for. It’s scary to jump off the high dive into the unknown of our dreams and actually pursue some irrational, illogical, random passion that we have. If you wait for the right circumstances and the approval of others, you will never venture into the amazing, wild adventure you have been created for. Life is full of unexpectancy and hardships, but if we stay content with our daily mind numbing routines, and busy schedules, we will live in the “Kiddie Pool” of life and never know what it’s like to swim into the deep where the big waves are. Sure there are sharks and other scary things out there, but what’s living if you are contained in a blown up, plastic, knee deep, wading pool?!?
I, for one, am ready to wake up and live life fully awake and in the present. Making the choice everyday to live life to the fullest and to tap into the potential of my dreams and making them come true. Life is about the choices we make and I CHOOSE to be ALIVE in this moment!!
