Okay, I know that I haven’t been keeping up with my blog lately. LAME on my part. Sorry.
I just haven’t been interesting enough to write anything. I was going to complain about the Christmas music that is now on the radio 24/7…but I actually like it. Still a little early, but it’s nice.
Now for the good stuff.
I ALMOST HIT A LADY WITH MY CAR TONIGHT!!!
SRSLY PEOPLE.
I came around the curve of an on ramp and this car without lights was sitting in the middle of the road and a lady waving frantically, also in the middle of the road. I hit my brakes and skidded to a halt. I timidly rolled down my window to see what she wanted…mind you that it’s 9:00 at night and it’s REALLY DARK. I was thinking that this could possibly be my own personal horror movie just ready to unfold. Anyway, the lady told me in broken english something about her car and that she needed help. Another car was coming around the corner and I put my hazards on to warn them. I pulled up in front of the lady’s car and stopped. I was conveniently on the phone with my hubby and he was telling me “Don’t you DARE stop.” ”Don’t you get out of that car.” So, what did I do? Yep, I got out of the car. I know, I was srsly asking for it. The lady was shaking and trying to tell me what was going on. I totally didn’t understand 99% of what she said. A lady got out of the car that had come up behind me and she and I tried desperately to see what this frantic lady needed. Don’t worry, I maintained open connection with my hubby, like a good wife!! Plus he needed to be an audible witness, just in case something went down. The lady kept saying something about her lights were out and that she was a new driver, and then it clicked. I figured it out. She didn’t know how to turn her headlights on. I was right. I know….WHAT THE CRAP?!? The other lady who was helping me showed broken english lady how to turn her lights on. The broken english lady said she couldn’t drive because she was shaking too bad. (She had to say it more than several times for me to understand.) Well, the hubby, of the other lady helping, came out and they decided that they would follow broken english lady off the interstate to make sure she made it. So NICE of them. I just wanted to get out of there. I am scared of the dark you know. Ain’t no shame.
Well, that was my adventure tonight.
Pretty exciting huh?
Praise the Lord I didn’t hit her or the car she doesn’t know how to drive!!!

Wow. I would have been scared too! Especially after almost hitting her!
Everyone is afraid of the dark, and anyone who says they’re not is lying.
WoW… I am glad you were able to bless this woman and it wasn’t a fake situation, BUT you should have listened to your hubby… You were alone and it was dark! {that is the chicken in me}

I start yelling at the computer “no you didn’t”when I got to the part you got out of the car, then realize you’re writing this so your ok
Thanks for all of your concern…now granted, I am one that NEVER stops for anything. I just felt for some reason that I needed to stop. She was frantic and I saw a baby seat in the car and thought the worst. Another part of it was because someone would have hit her if I didn’t at least sit there with my hazards on. I wouldn’t have gotten out of the car except the car behind me stopped and the fact that I WAS on the phone with my hubby helped. He wasn’t mad, he just told me to get out of there as fast as I could. Oh, and the baby seat was empty…no one else was with her.
Plus, if that were me, I would want a nice lady to stop. I wouldn’t be running around in the middle of the road though, I would have been in the car with the doors locked panicking.
Hi Kellie ~ I’m with your hubby on that one…I don’t think I would have stopped, but then, you always think, what if it was me? Glad it was nothing major!
Hugz,
Michele
yea know what you mean….I never do that….but I am glad you listened to your gut and also glad you stayed on the phone with your husband. I am glad that she had a nice lady stop instead of someone who might have taken advantage of her.
